Mountain View Christian Schools Preschool
The philosophy of Mountain View Christian Preschool is to “train up children in the way they should go,” (Proverbs 22:6) by providing a Christ-centered, academic-based preschool program.
MVCS accomplishes this goal by:

Director’s Note to New Families
1. Uniforms are required- (See Dennis Uniform info in your packet.)
2. Rest time needs: a crib sheet, blanket, pillow, and backpack.
3. Thursday packs will be sent home for parent communication.
4. Parent involvement opportunities include-chapel, parties, field trips and annual school-wide events. If you would
like to become a regular volunteer please see the director for information.
5. Send a change of clothing to be left at school for emergencies
6. Lunch: you may purchase lunch from the cafeteria or send ready to eat foods in a sack lunch-we will refrigerate perishable items.
7. Snack is provided at @9:00am and 2:30 each day.
8. School hours/ day care: We are open from 6:00am-6:00 pm each day. The school day is from
8:00-3:00
pm. Centers and outside play will be offered during extended care before and after school. Your tuition covers your
child from 6am to 6pm.

9. Drop off/Pick up procedure:
Before school-Drop off in room 102 until 7:30 at which time the children go to the playground on good weather days—always sign in on the clipboard and turn your child directly over to a teacher.
8:00am –3:15 pm (school day)- If you arrive during the school day to pick up your child or to drop something off, please check in through the school office.
After school-Those picking up children from Extended care need to stop by the security desk at the west wing
for a pick up ticket. Please bring identification with you.
10. Security issues: please enter through the west wing doors near the school office for pickup. Have you id with
you for pickup. All teacher’s and aides have CPR/First Aide certification and Health and Sheriff’s cards which
provide an FBI background check as required by the City of Las Vegas.

11. Discipline procedure: We use time out and/or redirection. In severe incidents the child will be sent to the
director and the parent will be notified by phone or through an incident report.
12. Class placement: Children will be placed with classroom teachers by their birthdays as of Sept 30th of the
current school year.
13. Tuition is $150.00 a week during the school year. You are allowed two weeks vacation time during the school
year in which tuition may be waived. Vacation Slips are available in the preschool office.
14. Summer camp: During the summer months we offer Summer Day Camp for Preschool through 8th grade. The
rate is the same as during the school year, but is on a week-to-week basis.
15. Special needs: Please speak with the director of any special needs your child may have. Fill out a medication release with the teacher or school office for any medication that needs to be distributed throughout the day. The
school medical assistant will administer meds; school personnel may give only prescription medications.
16. Updated info: Always inform the office of change of address and phone numbers—use a change of information form.
17. Curriculum: Children use Bob Jones curriculum and learning centers. Progress reports are sent home quarterly.
18. Required documents to begin preschool: birth certificate, physical form, shot record, and school application
packet.
I am here to help you any way I can. Please feel free to call me if you have any more questions. My phone number is work 452-1300.
